Today’s blog is all about spaces which feature warm, golden & welcoming colour palettes. Whether using high-polish brass, warm brick, brushed gold, natural wood or simply a softly warm paint, we’re seeing a design resurgence of warm tones in almost every space of the home.
Including warmer tones in your design is a great way to achieve a welcoming, homey feel. Even if you are a lover of crisp, cool tones like blues & greys, including a few pops of warmth is always a great idea to bring balance & interest to a space.
Today we’re sharing 3 spaces which use warm tones in completely different ways, but all achieve a welcoming, interesting & unique look.
Below, this beautiful coastal inspired retreat is a perfect example of cool & warm executed to perfection. This stunning space features traditional design motifs like built-in cabinetry, shiplap walls & transom- style windows. The custom buffet is completely built-in and topped with Cambria’s Whitehalll design, ensuring that hard-working area will look just as crisp for years to come.
These elements are softly familiar & invoke a feeling of warmth & classic good taste. Keeping these a crisp white allows them to feel crisp and modern, while using cool toned art & accents creates a relaxing feel. To keep this space from feeling predictable, however; the use of a modern light fixture with a truly unexpected pop of gold truly changes the feel of this entire space!
Named after what was once the main residence of English Monarchs, Whitehall is simple and elegant with tiny flecks of gray reminiscent of light filtered through a soft morning mist in old London town.
The next space we’re sharing is a completely different way to incorporate warm tones in a space! A large custom range hood in a buffed gold texture adds a focal poin & old world character to this range nook. Black & gold pop against warm taupe backsplash, while a stunning Cambria Annicca Matte countertop adds movement & a subtle luxe shimmer. The combination of tones & textures creates a high-end, totally custom kitchen which looks effortless yet refined. The matte texture of the countertop plays beautfully against the softly glimmering textured glass backsplash. Controlling where & how light reflects in a space is an important part of creating the feel of your home, and this is an excellent example of how that can be achieved.
A new spin on classic marble, a neutral white background is infused with subtle gray veins and regal gold and purple sparkle that recall the majesty of court during the reign of Queen Anne.
Lastly, this custom closet is a white-on-white dream. Clouds of soft whites are paired together here to create a serene space against which clothes will pop. Considering the way in which you plan to use a space is always the best first step when designing a functional room. Certainly, in a closet there is an argument to be made for a white backdrop against which to create! This space proves that white on white need not be boring - architectural & golden light fixtures draw the eye & provide a glamourous feel, while a beautiful Cambria Brittanicca Warm dressing island is a gorgeous feature with soft movement & delicate tones of white & greige.
